Oratect Instructions for Use:

Instruct the donor not to place anything in their mouth including food, drinks, gum and tobacco for the 10 minutes prior to sample collection.

1: After removing the saliva swab from the sealed pouch, remove the blue cap from the end of the test. This will expose the saliva collection pad.
2: Ensure a blue line is present in each of the test windows, then hand the device to the donor for saliva collection.
3: Instruct the donor to hold the top of the device, above the results window, and rub the collection pad on the inside of one cheek in a circular motion several times. Next, repeat this step against the opposite cheek. Please note: It is very important not to suck, chew, bend or bite the collection pad.
4: Next, place the collection pad underneath the tongue for approximately 40 seconds to collect saliva, instructing the donor to hold the device in place with their hand. Ask the donor to remove the device from their mouth as soon as blue lines appear in both test windows as this will indicate that a sufficient amount of saliva has been collected.
5: Place the cap back onto the test device and set it on a clean, flat surface. Results can be read 5 minutes after removing the device from the donor's mouth. Results read after 15 minutes should be considered invalid.

How to Read Oratect Results:

  • Negative drug test results will show one line in the control region and one line in the test region. Please note: Even a faint line indicates a negative test result.
  • Presumptive positive results will show one line in the control region and no lines in the test region.
  • Invalid test results fail to show any lines at all. Should this occur, repeat the test with a new device. If the results are still invalid, stop using the test devices and contact TestCountry.
