What does it mean when a urine drug test is CLIA Waived?

A CLIA Waived drug test is a test system that has been approved for a waiver based on the CLIA 7-point criteria, as well as tests cleared by the FDA for home use, as listed in the CLIA regulations. This waiver means a test is held to the highest of standards and offers the utmost trustworthy results.

What is a urine drug test cut-off level?

A urine drug test cut-off level is the specified amount of a drug metabolite in a urine test sample. Above this level, a drug test is considered positive while below this level, a drug test is considered negative.

When is the most optimal time to perform a urine drug test if I suspect recent drug use in a donor?

The minimum detection time in urine for most drugs is approximately 2 to 7 hours, so you may collect a sample any time after this time frame.

5 Panel T-Cup Instructions:

PDF Instructions

1: Remove the T-Cup drug test cup from the foil pouch and label the test device with the donor's information.
2: Remove the test cup lid and have the donor urinate directly into the device, making sure to provide the minimum required specimen level.
3: Once the donor has collected their urine sample, ask them to securely place the lid back on the T-Cup, then return the cup to the collection official.
4: Peel back the label to reveal the drug test panels and read the results at 5 minutes. Results read after 10 minutes should be considered invalid.

How to Read T-Cup Drug Test Results:

  • Negative drug test results will show two lines - one line in the control region and one line in the test region.
  • Presumptive positive results will have only one line in the control region. If a test fails to show a line in the control region, this indicates and invalid test result.
  • Invalid drug test results occur when no line appears in the control region. Should this occur, repeat the test with a new device. If results are still invalid, please stop using the test cups and contact a TestCountry representative.
